Financial planning workshops for incoming students and their guardians

Mac’s Money Centre is excited to invite you to SmartStart, a University preparedness workshop where incoming students and their guardians learn how to build their financial resource plan, apply for loans, scholarship/bursaries, work/study, manage their student account, budget wisely and make healthy financial choices during their university years.

This informative 4-hour program is offered on both:

Friday, June 16 – 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. | Dinner Provided
Saturday, June 17 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Lunch Provided

Both sessions will include a financial plan development session, meal, keynote address, and table talks focused on:

  • Higher education points
  • Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) & the Ontario Tuition Grant (OTG)
  • Bursaries & scholarships
  • Your McMaster Student Account
  • Student banking, Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs), & lines of credit
  • Employment & supports
  • Credit & debt
  • McMaster Students Union (MSU) programs & supports
