Many students don’t know where their money goes or what exactly is covered in their tuition costs; but, knowing your tuition breakdown is empowering and can even help you save money. For example, there are lots of student services you have access to, like free membership to The Pulse, equipment and game rentals through the library, academic coaching, mental health programming, and well, the list goes on.
Here’s what you need to know about your tuition:
- Each year, tuition and supplementary fees (essential and non-essential) are posted on the Office of the Registrar’s website in early summer. Check out the most up-to-date supplementary fees.
- The McMaster Students Union also provides a per-student cost for their services. Check out this year’s cost-per-student breakdown.
- Have a dental or health plan outside of school? This is one example of some of the fees you can opt out of if you choose. Learn more about your options on the McMaster Students Union (MSU) website.
- Check out the Office of the Registrar’s Financial Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.
